Xenocs SAXS School China 2017

Xenocs is very pleased to organize its first Xenocs SAXS School.

For its first edition, the school will be held in Changchun, China, from October 16 to October 19, 2017.


The aim of the school is to bring Xenocs users to the next level in their knowledge and usage of the SAXS and GISAXS techniques, to foster the share of experience between users and finally to contribute into the improvement of science.

It is addressed to scientists, from young PhD to professionals in the field, using scattering methods in their home laboratory or having already some background in this domain, who are looking for improving their knowledge and skills on SAXS, WAXS and GISAXS.

Advanced training will be delivered by internationally recognized x‐ray experts. The school will focus on the best usage of the SAXS/GISAXS techniques and will be devoted to the latest developments in x-ray scattering experiments and on the resulting data interpretation, involving theoretical principles, mathematical transformation back to real space and structural model calculation of scattering. It will explain current methodology of static and kinetic scattering techniques, avoiding both under and over‐exploitation of data. Basic information on data interpretation, on elements for best sample preparation as well as information on recent applications and developments will be presented.

The program will favor permanent contact between lecturers and participants to ensure successful sharing of experience during all duration of the school. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to present their current research topic or concern in a mandatory printed poster and in an optional oral presentation.
